Senelec's response
Faced with this controversy, Senelec reacted by acknowledging a glaring anomaly in one of its customers' bills, which had led to an amount much higher than would have been reasonable. The utility immediately rectified the error, expressing regret and explaining that such errors can occur in the course of day-to-day operations.

However, the question that arises is how many Senegalese have been confronted with such "errors" or "abuses" on the part of Senelec without ever having had their rights restored.
